Bio
Lawyer. PhD in Law (summa cum laude) from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law, State and Constitution from the University of Brasília (UnB). Postgraduate degree in Competition Law and Economic Regulation from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). Director-General of the Brazilian Institute of Teaching, Development and Research (IDP). Former Legislative Consultant to the Federal Senate in the fields of Economic Law, Corporate Law, and Consumer Law, and former Public Policy and Government Management Specialist at the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE).

Laura Schertel Mendes
Bio
Lawyer. Professor at the University of Brasília (UnB) and at the Brazilian Institute of Teaching, Development and Research (IDP). PhD in Private Law from Humboldt University of Berlin. Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law, State and Constitution from the University of Brasília (UnB). She was one of the authors of the draft bill on data protection that resulted in the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018) and served as rapporteur of the Committee of Jurists of the Chamber of Deputies responsible for preparing the draft bill on data protection in criminal prosecution. Author of the book “Privacy, Data Protection and Consumer Protection: General Lines of a New Fundamental Right” (Saraiva, 2014) and editor/coordinator of the Treatise on Personal Data Protection (Gen Publishing, 2021).

Thiago Costa Monteiro Caldeira
Bio
Lawyer. Master’s candidate in Lawyer and Economist. PhD in Economics from the Catholic University of Brasília. Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Brasília. Bachelor’s degrees in Economics (2005) and Law (2013), with a postgraduate specialization in Tax Law. Former Visiting Researcher at the Toulouse School of Economics (France).
Served as a regulator at the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) and at the Ministry of Transport, among other federal public administration bodies. Has 20 years of experience in public law, economic regulation, infrastructure and public service concessions, regulatory law, competition law, impact assessment, taxation, and public finance.
